Most people in Pima County are aware of PACC, but they might not be aware of the shelter’s innovative lifesaving programs. These programs have earned PACC the distinction as one of the most successful lifesaving shelters in the nation. Many of these programs are funded exclusively through community donations. The Radiothon will help local residents better understand these programs and their benefits, while encouraging the public’s financial support so that PACC can maintain and expand its lifesaving offerings. Our goal is to raise $50,000 over the course of the day.

Note that a major goal of the day is to attract new donors. Our existing donors receive frequent communications from us and have many opportunities to contribute. The Radiothon is a chance to connect with new members of the community. In doing so, we will encourage adopting, fostering, volunteering, and of course, donating. The Radiothon can be a major boon to saving more lives as we communicate with a new and diverse audience.

DONATIONS

The primary goal of the Radiothon is to secure recurring, aka monthly, donors. We call these our Lifesaving League and for the Radiothon they will be called Paw Pal. Monthly gifts are a very impact means to support PACC, because they ensure funding will be consistently available for important projects.

A $5 per month gift will fund pet food for a month; a $10 per month gift will cover vaccine and microchips for a pet; $25 per month gift will help one Keeping Families Together pet; a $50 per month gift will help a homeless pet find a new home; and a $100 per month gift will fund lifesaving medical or dental care.

SUPPORTING EFFORTS

We have secured a variety of methods to support the Radiothon and encourage giving. The stories and interviews shared throughout the day will be the primary motivation to donate. However, sometimes it helps to create incentives to move listeners to action of donating. Towards this end we have coordinated matching gift donations that can be announced throughout the day, and we have secured prize incentives that we will used to encourage monthly giving. A breakdown of matching gifts and incentives will be provided closer to Sept 20.
