Shotta Kush Drops New Music “Suburban Identity Crisis”

Charlotte-based artist Shotta Kush has released a new single titled “Suburban Identity Crisis,” a hazy, melodic trap track shaped by recent changes in his personal and professional life. Known for his emotionally honest lyricism and melodic production style, Shotta continues to refine his approach to songwriting. This time with a strong focus on cohesion, detail, and mood.

Following a period of internal restructuring, Shotta says he’s been focused on organizing his environment and distancing himself from those who weren’t moving in alignment with his goals. “Certain people around me were starting to move strangely when it came to money, so I had to take the initiative and subtract them from the equation,” he says. That process of realignment and focus bleeds into the tone and texture of the new record.

Crafted with care and intentionality, “Suburban Identity Crisis”brings hypnotic melodies and layered production together into a single track that Shotta Kush believes stands out among his work. “I took my time with this song. I didn’t make it in 15 minutes. I hope it sounds like that,” he shares. He views it as his most polished and well-executed release yet, both in its lyrical construction and its overall sonic presentation.

“The song is meant to be a hazy trap ballad with infectious melodies that force you to play it over and over again,” Shotta explains. “Whether sonically or lyrically, I just think the track is overall dope af.” From subtle harmonies to deliberate pacing, the track reflects the growth of an artist who has always used music as a vehicle for self-expression and survival.

Shotta Kush continues to build a sound rooted in transparency and resilience. He’s never been one to follow trends or cater to surface-level expectations. Instead, his focus remains on making music that reflects lived experience—emotional, raw, and thoughtfully arranged.

As he looks toward the future, Shotta remains focused on practical goals. “Success is being able to take care of my mother and me and not having to trap anymore,” he says. With a distribution deal in place through Empire, he’s hoping for more visibility, though he remains realistic about the results.

“Suburban Identity Crisis” is available now on all major platforms. Listen below! Listeners can follow Shotta Kush on Instagram, and YouTube for new content, music videos, and upcoming releases.
