5 Ways To Identify A Toxic Person In Less Than 5 Minutes

Toxic people can be tough to spot because they have mastered the art of manipulation. They can put on a good show, but behind the scenes can be a total energy draining nightmare! While there are toxic people we can spot outside our own little worlds, the most toxic could be the ones closest to us. Here are 5 indicators of a toxic person that you can use to identify if someone is toxic in under 5 minutes.

Indicator # 1 – Toxic people reveal themselves in a simple way every time; they always speak and boast about themselves. They can’t bear to hear about someone else for too long. You will realize after a few minutes, the convo will turn into something about them and they have not listened to anything else. They’re always better than you or that person over there. They display this in a very subtle way, but when you pay attention, you will see the competition you never asked to be apart of. Everything you have, they have something better. Everything you have experienced, they have experienced it 10x worse. They always have the upper hand, whether in self-pity or pride, they must always be number one. They brag without success. Everything in their life is so much more impressive than yours and they are sure to tell you! Whenever something good happens to them, they are sure to repeat it as much as possible to anyone they see. While it’s good to share your accomplishments with other people, no need to constantly remind others over and over and over again.

Indicator # 2 – If they are not speaking about themselves, the are putting others down, even their closest friends. They do this to make themselves look better to other people. This shows the insecurity that they try so hard to hide from the world! If you get to the point where a toxic person feels comfortable enough to share their true emotions and feelings, especial their feelings on other people in their life, you will realize that they are excessively insecure. They literally analyze their surroundings to better understand how people think of them because they are actually very insecure and probably have some self-esteem issues

Indicator # 3 – They complain all the time. Toxic people are negative people and negativity is rather difficult to hide! This is probably one of the biggest indicators, when they are upset, you must also take a ride to downsville. When they are in a bad mood, they will be dedicated to making sure you are too. Not only you but everyone around them too. If things don’t go as planned, you can also throw the plans in the trash because they’ll be ruined for everyone.

Indicator # 4 – They hit where it hurts. If you ever find yourself in conflict with a toxic person, you will sadly notice that they hit you where it hurts and the vemon is real. There is a difference between bickering, arguing, and hurting someone. You do not raise insecurities, faults, or deep problems with the people you love, no matter how angry you are at them. A toxic person will do it because they are hurt and frustrated with something and they will be damned before leaving you unharmed!

Indicator # 5 – When they are nice, they are overly nice. Toxic people can easily deceive people because they cover them with extravagant compliments and favors. The butter you up really nice when they need you, but everything changes when they change their minds. You can easily recognize a toxic person by the ridiculous amounts of love, compliments, and affection they show when they are in a good mood. It’s kind of maniac!

Remember, if a toxic person takes advantage of you, don’t let them destroy your ability to trust others. A toxic person can make it much more difficult to love others and build relationships because you are terrified of hurting yourself again. Even if it sounds cliché, don’t let it hold you back. They’ve hurt you enough and it’s time for you to escape their endless torment. Get them out of your head and love and trust whoever you want.
