Several rap stars and Hollywood legends have been confirmed to appear in the upcoming film inspired by Rolling Loud.
Sexyy Red, Ty Dolla $ign, and Ski Mask The Slump God have officially joined the cast of Rolling Loud — a Hip-Hop R-rated comedy based on a true story. According to a recent press release, all three artists will appear in the movie alongside Owen Wilson, Matt Rife, legendary actor Henry Winkler, Christian Convery and "Dave" star Christine Ko. The film began production a few months ago at Rolling Loud Miami and is currently filming at a studio in Atlanta.
Deadline previously reported that the synopsis of the film "follows an overprotective father (Wilson) who makes a bold parenting decision when he sneaks his 13-year-old son into the world’s largest Hip Hop music festival, setting off a chaotic adventure with his reckless co-worker (Matt Rife) and an eccentric festival volunteer as they navigate wild crowds, security, and their own family dynamics."
Wilson has already given fans a preview of what to expect from the movie. Some fans may remember the viral moment when the Wedding Crashers star was caught staring at Big Sexyy in awe during her set at Rolling Loud Miami. After she saw the clip online, Sexyy wrote, "Dats my baby Owen" with some kissing cat emojis on X. Wilson continued to dominate the headlines that night when he came out onstage with Travis Scott during his closing set. La Flame is also rumored to make an appearance in the film, but his role has yet to be confirmed.
Rolling Loud is directed, written, and produced by Jeremy Garelick. The film is executive produced by Matt Zingler and Tariq Cherif of Rolling Loud, Ryan Kroft and Michael Rapino for Live Nation Productions and Pasquale Rotella of Insomniac. As of this report, there's no set release date.
Sexyy Red and Ski Mask the Slump God will perform at Rolling Loud California on March 15 and 16 at Hollywood Park in Los Angeles. The festival is headlined by A$AP Rocky, Playboi Carti and Peso Pluma.
