A loose basketball crashed Jennifer Hudson's date night with Common at a New York Knicks game.
On Tuesday (March 4), Hudson and Common were sitting courtside at Madison Square Garden when Knicks star Miles McBride lost control of the basketball.
Cameras captured the now-viral moment when the ball appeared to crash into Hudson and knock off her glasses.
“Protect Jennifer Hudson!” one of the commentators said.
Video showed Common and McBride checking on Hudson as she fixed her glasses, which appeared to be bent.
“Oh no, not the glasses,” a second commentator said. “Those look real expensive, too.”
“Common is making sure everybody’s okay," the first commentator chimed in.
A replay of the viral incident showed Common doing his best to protect his "The Jennifer Hudson Show" host.
“Let me see what Common did. Did he protect her? No, no he didn’t,” a commentator joked.
Common and Hudson went public with their relationship in January 2024 but were rumored to be romantically linked back in 2022 when they worked together on their film Breathe. The two have made multiple courtside appearances together over the years.
