The long wait for Smino's fourth studio album is finally over.

On Friday, December 6, the St. Louis native delivered his latest body of work Maybe In Nirvana via Zero Fatigue Records. Smino's new album comes with nine incredible tracks that tells his life story using themes like love and self-discovery. Following the brief intro, Smino starts off by paying homage to his late grandmother on his emotional lead single "Dear Fren." The 33-year-old celebrate the album's release by debuting the official music video for "Dear Fren," which gives fans more insight about his younger self.

“This album is a testament to timeless music—it’s about my peace, my chaos, and everything in between,” Smino said about the album. “I wanted to make something that lives outside of time.”

Maybe In Nirvana also features collaborations with Thundercat, Bun B, Ravyn Lenae, BJ The Chicago Kid and Reggie over production by Monte Booker, Groove, Kenny Beats, Phoelix, and more. Smino revealed the plans for the album earlier this week when he debuted the official artwork and tracklist on social media at the beginning of this week. He originally intended to release it as a deluxe version of his 2022 album Luv 4 Rent. However, he decided to go a different route and confirmed he would drop a "whole new album" instead.
