Mach-Hommy is giving fans a preview of what they can expect on his forthcoming album.

On Monday, May 6, the Haitian-born rapper released the first single from his next project #RICHAXXHAITIAN. The song is the title track from the LP and features contributions from KAYTRANADA and 03 Greedo. Mach lays down a fire verse while Greedo holds down the catchy hook over an uptempo instrumental that uses an interpolation of Afrobeat artist Odion Iruoje's "Ikebe." In addition to the new track, Mach also revealed the official album cover and the release date. His new album is set to arrive on May 17, which is right before Haitian Flag Day.

“I’ve always wanted to rep for Haiti and the cultural and intellectual richness we’ve provided the world,” Mach said in a statement about the project. “From our musical styles like kontradans that have influenced world music, our natural resources which provide so much raw material for so many important advancements in technology, our thinkers that pioneered philosophical movements and Black pride, and our spiritual leaders who kept the religious traditions of Guinea alive and intact."

The Afrobeats-inspired banger might remind fans of a previous collaboration Mach and KAYTRANADA served up a few years ago. On "$payforhaiti," Mach spits a verse in Creole over a fast-paced instrumental. The song appears on the Canadian DJ's 2021 EP Intimidated, which dropped shortly after Mach delivered critically-acclaimed projects Pray For Haiti and Balens Cho.

Mach-Hommy's #RICHAXXHAITIAN is the final installment of a tetralogy that began with his 2016 LP H.B.O. (Haitian Body Odor). The project features music produced by Conductor Williams, Quelle Chris, Sadhu Gold and more, who were all inspired by numerous genres. Mach also recruited a mixture of artists from past and present generations including Black Thought, Roc Marciano, Your Old Droog, Tha God Fahim and more.

“All the people I worked with are people who I know and who I've worked with before,” Mach said. “I like to deal with like-minded creatives. Even if the person has their own panache or je nais se quoi that they bring to the table, there has to be a thread of commonality between us in order for the work to sustain. And not to mention they're fucking talented, exceptionally gifted at what they do, and the ear that they possess.”
