Comedian Fuquan Johnson died over the weekend from a suspected drug overdose.

According to reports, the 42-year-old comic was among three people pronounced dead at a home in the Venice neighborhood of Los Angeles on Friday night (September 3) after police arrived at the scene. Law enforcement sources told TMZ that a four person, model-comedian Kate Quigley was also in attendance at the party and was transported to the hospital. Her current condition is unknown.

Police sources said that “cocaine laced with fentanyl” likely killed Johnson and the two other unidentified people and put Quigley in the hospital. The Los Angeles Police Department is reportedly conducting an investigation on the incident and the circumstances around what happened at the party, including where the laced drugs came from.

Autopsies will be performed to confirm the cause of death of the comic and two others, officials reported.

Johnson was known for his stand-up routines and recently worked on Comedy Parlour Live: Quarantine Edition in 2020.

Support for the comedian from friends and fans is being posted online following the news of his death.

"Smiliest, happiest duded, and a local icon in the North Hollywood community, RIP," writer-producer Luke Barnett wrote of Johnson on Twitter.
