Jay-Z is proving that he deserves a spot alongside artists such as Picasso and Andy Warhol. On Wednesday, Jay took part in what amounted to a performance art piece at New York's Pace Gallery, performing his track "Picasso Baby" for six hours.
Video posted on TheDailyBeast.com shows the behind the scenes action. Apart from all the cell phone footage taken at the show, a film crew captured the epic performance for what many believe will be the music video for the track.
In a recent question-and-answer session on Twitter, Jay hinted that the visuals for the album would come from "six pieces of art." Spectators were brought into the gallery every hour. Among the high profile guests were director Judd Apatow, actor Alan Cumming, actress Jemima Kirke and actor Adam Driver.
"Picasso Baby" appears on Jay's latest album "Magna Carta Holy Grail." Prior to the album's release this week, Jay gave away one-million digital copies of the album in a promotional partnership with Samsung Mobile.
